Gabrielle Anwar was born on February 4, 1970 in Laleham, Middlesex, England to an English actress mother Shirley and her father, an Indian-born, award-winning British film producer and editor Tariq Anwar. Gabrielle attended school at Laleham C. of E. Primary and Middle School from 1975 to 1982. It was also in 1982 when Gabrielle showed her enthusiasm for theatre and she decided to transfer to London where she attended drama and dance school. Her first acting debut began in the British miniseries Hideaway then went on to do film endeavors and made her debut for the movie Manifesto which was then followed with more British television productions that included First Born, Summer’s Lease, Press Gang and The Mysteries of the Dark Jungle. As she was doing film and TV work in London, she met American actor Craig Sheffer and the two moved to Hollywood where the two had made several movies together that included In Pursuit of Honor, The Grave, Turbulence 3: Heavy Metal, Flying Virus, Save It for Later, Water Under the Bridge and Long Lost Son.

Her first American movie was the film If Looks Could Kill where she played the role of a murdered British Agent’s daughter alongside actor Roger Daltrey. In 1992 Gabrielle made her guest appearance on the hit TV series Beverly Hills, 90210 playing the role of Tricia Kinney which was then followed by more film work as she starred in several movies like Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken, Scent of a Woman (where Gabrielle considers her tango dance number with Al Pacino as one of her most memorable moments on screen), Body Snatchers, For Love or Money and The Three Musketeers. In 1993, Gabrielle was named as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World by People magazine. She then returned to television and appeared in the series John Doe and recently acted in The Librarian: Return to King Solomon’s Mines. Gabrielle played the true-to-life role of Princess Margaret, sister of Henry VIII of England on Showtime’s The Tudors in 2007. Currently she is playing Fiona Glenanne in the TV series Burn Notice.
